About Us
We are a husband and wife team that fell in love with the chihuahua breed and acquired our first Chihuahua back at the beginning of 2018, after a year of researching other breeders. Years later, we planned our first litter and came up with a kennel name to represent us. At Red Paw Chihuahuas, we don’t just raise Chihuahuas; we nurture lifelong companions. Our commitment to health and temperament means each Chihuahua we breed undergoes rigorous health screenings and is carefully socialized to ensure they are not only physically sound but also wonderfully affectionate and well-adjusted. We focus on creating puppies that bring joy and stability to your home, making every tail wag and cuddle an experience of pure, healthy delight.
About the name
My husband and I were living in the San Francisco Bay Area, dreaming of a property where our dogs could roam freely and explore. We eventually found a stunning piece of land in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California. During our first few weeks there, a light snowstorm blanketed the area. Once the snow stopped, we let our dogs out to play. We noticed that their paws were melting the snow, revealing the red soil underneath. The result was a patchwork of red paw prints across the snowy landscape. From then on, my husband affectionately named our property Red Paw Ranch, and we decided to name our chihuahua program Red Paw Chihuahuas to match!
